SMOKED PEPPER CHICKEN WINGS RECIPE
MUURIKKA ELECTRIC SMOKERS
Smoked chicken is one of our favourites and easy to prepare in our smoker.
Smoked Chicken Wings
1.5 kg chicken wings
Hickory wood chips
½ cup olive oil
½ cup sea salt
¼ cup fresh ground black pepper
¼ cup paprika
⅒ cup cayenne
¼ cup chili powder
¼ cup cumin
⅒ cup garlic powder
⅒ cup onion powder
Juice of 1 lemon (optional)
Combine all the RUB ingredients in a bowl.
Rinse chicken wings and pat dry with a paper towel.
Line your electric smoker trays with foil.
Place the wings on the grill try and lightly coat the chicken wings with the olive oil.
Sprinkle the rub over the wings generously ensuring they are fully coated.
Place the chicken wings in your electric smoker for approximately 20 minutes (without the wood chips).
After this time, and wearing an oven mitt or glove, carefully remove the wings from the smoker and insert wood chips.
Smoke the chicken wings for a further 30 - 35 minutes or until cooked evenly.
Remove the chicken wings from the smoker and serve with chopped spring onions.
Sprinkle the chicken wings with the lemon juice (optional) and salad.
