INGREDIENTS

  • 5 kg Leg of lamb with bone
  • Sea salt
  • ¾ cup smoking chips of your choice (soaked in water)

 

How To Smoke Meat in the Muurikka Electric Smoker | Smoked Lamb Recipe

 

DIRECTIONS

  • Spread and coat the lamb generously with sea salt
  • Place the lamb in a bowl , cover and place in refrigerator overnight - turning once
  • Next day, uncover the lamb and remove the excess salt
  • Heat the electric food smoker until hot and then line the bottom wood chip tray with foil
  • Lay the lamb on the top cooking rack and place in the electric smoker.  Replace lid
  • Roast in the smoking oven for 1.5 hours
  • Place the soaked wood chips on the lined chip tray and smoke lamb for a further hour
  • Unplug the electric smoker and let the lamb settle in the Muurikka Electric Smoker for another 20 minutes.
