Muurikka Smoked Snapper Recipe

Our Electric Smoker proves that Smoking Fish is super easy.

Snapper is delicious, especially when it’s hot smoked.
There’s no need to cover the fish in batter, nor do you have to fry it.

This Recipe is quick, simple and most of all healthy.

For us, the hardest part is catching the fish.

Red snapper filet(s), skin on
2 tbs olive oil
1 tbs brown sugar
1 tbs garlic, chopped
1 tsp pepper black—freshly ground
1 tbl maple syrup
½ cup Mesquite wood chips (preferred)

4 cups water
12 oz kosher salt—approx
2 tbs brown sugar
1 tbl crushed garlic

Prepare the brine. Dissolve the salt in the cold water. Add the sugar and the crushed garlic.

Brine the fish for one hour plus and remove.

Combine the olive oil, brown sugar, garlic and pepper to make a rub and rub it into the fish well. Oil the skin side lightly, so it won't stick.

Place wood chips onto the wood chip tray. Add sugar cubes or brown sugar then add some water on top so they don't burn too quickly (add as much water as you like).

Insert the wood chip tray into the Muurikka Electric Smoker.  Place the fish onto the grill plate and place in the Fish Smoker.

Turn the electric smoker on and smoke the fish for the RECOMMENDED TIME found here.

Coat the fish with warmed maple syrup as a glaze and serve a fresh citrus salad.

Our Electric Smoker makes cooking meals easy!
