HOW TO CLEAN THE MUURIKKA GRIDDLE PAN

Before Using your Griddle Pan for the first time, clean the new GRIDDLE Pan by washing it with detergent and hot water and dry it - follow with these steps.
Wipe the Griddle Pan with oil all over the top surface of the pan. Do not let the centre of the Griddle Pan get covered by a thicker layer of fat or grease – if it burns, it can turn into an uneven mess.
Heat up the Griddle Pan on your grill or open fire until the grease darkens and dries - at least in the middle of the pan. If needed, you can wash the Griddle Pan and give it the same treatment again. You can repeat the greasing and heating until the pan turns black, but this is not necessary as the pan will naturally turn darker when it is used.
Always clean the Muurikka Griddle Pan after use. It's easier to clean it immediately after use while still warm. Make sure there is no excess fat on the pan, pour a little water on to it, boil it up and clean with a spatula and paper towels.
Wipe the pan dry and spread a thin layer of cooking oil on the frying surface. Do not spread oil or fat underneath the pan.
Extra care must be taken when frying or cleaning a hot pan. If water is poured over boiling or very hot fat or oil, this can cause a violent reaction where the fat or oil explodes out of the pan. Therefore make sure there is no hot oil or fat on the Muurikka Griddle Pan before pouring in water or thin water-based sauces.
